I arrived at baby Jack's home to start my day's work and I have to say peaceful baby Jack could just lull you to sleep. Instead of snoozing right next to him (bad idea), I set my eyes to work and saw the simplicity of this moment was cast in flattering, directional window light, framing his soft features perfectly. Pretty sure these were my test shots for the lighting and so it was a thumbs up!

Baby Jack and his family were a delight to photograph. They had lots of their own ideas to supplement my wraps and props, so I got right to work on making their session as personal as possible for this sweet family. Dad had this awesome pair of Air Jordans and it was a must to capture Jack's itty bitty-ness next to them. This will be an awesome reference to have as Jack grows (and I hope Mom and Dad continue taking photos next to the sneakers!)

Jack lay comfortably in a soft blanket made by talented Mom. I love the way the simple textures add interest without overwhelming the photo.

Back to that window light for photographs with lovely Mom. I just love these moments. They do remind me of my own foray into motherhood. And now it's forever captured for this sweet family.

How awesome are these images of a strong yet gentle father? Dad had a great connection with the camera. And his son. ;-)

Peaceful in Daddy's arms. These images will tug at their hearts as Jack grows (and possibly outgrows Dad).

I love these family shots. You can see the love that started Jack and the love that will raise him.

This beautiful blanket was handmade by Grandma and so we wanted to incorporate it into the photos. Jack's overalls match perfectly, too!

Little fingers, little toes. Just can't get enough of them.

This photo needs no caption. Just enjoy.

Baby had zero interest in my traditional rings-on-the-toes shot. So we had to go to plan B. And then I tried plan C. I actually think both worked well! I particular like the out of focus family shot with the sharp rings in the foreground.

While Jack was being soothed by mom in hopes of getting him to cooperate for the rings-on-the-toes shot, I was having fun shooting creative ring photos. Took me back to my wedding photography days. I quite like the twist on these images.

Third try's a charm!

How sweet are Jack's little hands here? And his nothing-can-disturb-me expression? What a joy to photograph this new life. Thank you for inviting me to be a part of it.
